You are here: About Us > Napa Youth Ecology Corps

The Youth Ecology Corps is a summer job and training opportunity for at risk youth (young adults) between the ages of 18-24 (at the time of entering into the program). Those who are hired as crew members complete daily conservation and natural resources work at a variety of worksites managed by YEC partners such as the Napa County's Flood Control and Water Conservation District and Napa County's Regional Park and Open Space District.

The YEC crew member jobs involve training in both conservation and natural resources management work and job readiness skills.

Graduates of our YEC program can be propelled into green careers in conservation, natural resources, park services, habitat restoration, and more. Our program is aligned with the California Conservation Corps, so our graduates have the opportunity to enroll in one year of continued employment and training in the CCC, or they can continue their education by enrolling with their local community college.

The YEC program is 8 weeks in length, and usually runs during summer or late summer/early fall months.
Corps members typically work full-time Monday-Friday with some time allowed for career and environmental education. Crew members earn at or just above the minimum wage.
